Awakening to Love: Nurturing Our Hearts and Our Earth
How are you feeling after the intense eclipse energy? I definitely felt its effects, did you?
This week, I'm in Puerto Rico visiting one of my dear sisters, Yao, who’s truly showing us the way. She and her husband are dedicated to permaculture and sustainability projects worldwide, focusing on growing their food, nurturing the earth's soil, and building in harmony with the planet's wisdom. I was deeply moved and inspired to spend time with her family. Their property features a river that looks so much like the river in the Amazon jungle of Brazil. It holds special significance for both of us, and we met exactly one year ago in Aldea Sagrada while studying with the Yawanawa tribe.
Before that, we explored another part of the island, a paradise where mountains, ocean, and jungle converge, with our incredible friend Dr. Jeff Gladden. Once a heart surgeon for over two decades, he has transitioned into a longevity doctor. Amidst his many achievements, what struck me most during our visit was the presence of love in his heart, his reverence for ancient wisdom, and his dedication to life, family, and partnership.
Everywhere I look, including in my partner, I see individuals who went on an inner journey of self-discovery that inevitably led to a deeper care for all life.
I am passionate about my work—because once people are connected to their truth, joy, vitality, and spirit, they naturally extend that care to the planet and its inhabitants. This awareness of our connection to all of Life calls us to higher standards.
Now, what are you willing to do to support life?
Chief Nixiwaka, in a ceremony last month, shared his perspective as a guardian of over 200 thousand acres in the Amazon jungle. He sees the Earth in pain—the water, the trees, the animals. He suggests that to support the Earth, we can plant love in our hearts and nurture it, just as we would a seed.
It's all interconnected; as we love ourselves, release resentment, forgive, and celebrate Life, we can't help but act responsibly and with care toward all life forms. It's the beautiful side effect of allowing our spirits to incarnate while we're alive fully.
This is our call to action. Will you answer?
What small steps can you take to cultivate and nurture greater levels of love in your heart?
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Cultivate presence: Make deep, conscious breathing a way of life. Your breath is the gateway to consciousness. Practices like yoga and meditation can help develop this awareness.
Honor your emotions: Feel them fully and let them pass. Remember, you are not your emotions; they are simply visitors passing through.
Honor your word: Your integrity is everything. Trust in yourself and the world begins with honoring your commitments.
Forgive and let go: The past doesn't have to dictate your future. Release what no longer serves you to make room for growth and transformation.
Create: Embrace conscious creation as a form of communication with all of life. Follow your joy and express yourself through art and creativity.
Develop higher vision: See others through the lens of unity and interconnectedness. Let go of blame and judgment; they only perpetuate the illusion of separation.
Open to wisdom: Make space for inspiration and higher wisdom to flow through you. Remember that life isn't just about doing; it's also about being receptive to the guidance surrounding you.
